Backup Management with WatchDog

Users can choose to backup their data instantaneously or let WatchDog backup their data at regular intervals. The backup manager utility will set up background tasks to backup user data and a selected frequency and notify the users via an email in case of any failures. In order to backup a resource viz., database or configuration file etc. from a host, click on 'action' tab and select 'backup data' from the dropdown.

File Backups

A user will be redirected to the backup management page. In order to backup file resources select 'backup type' as 'file'. Select from other options and proceed.

Backup Type : selected as 'FILE'
Host IP : remote host server IP
username :  autocomplete field
Target IP : backup server IP
Target User: username over backup server
Target Path : user defined backup path
Encryption Password: File encryption password
Clear History : Check the option when needed
Period : Clear history period in days.
Select Frequency : frequency for scheduled backups.
Backupnow : enable instantaneous backup on checkout

Database Backups

We can back up our regular MySQL databases to a specified remote backup location securely using backup manager utilty

Backup Type : selected as 'DATABASE'
Host IP : remote host server IP
username :  autocomplete field
Database Name: database to be backed up
Database User: username on database server
Datebase Password: user password for database
Target IP : backup server IP
Target User: username over backup server
Target Path : user defined backup path
Encryption Password: File encryption password
Clear History : Check the option when needed
Period : Clear history period in days.
Select Frequency : frequency for scheduled backups.
Backupnow : enable instantaneous backup on checkout
