Why is documentation for any system an imperative?

Documentation is important for all scientific resources. It enables users to get a more lucid idea about how to interact with a system. Most important of all criteria the documentation should always be simple and user friendly. Documentation does not have to be outdated and or incomplete. If the documentation is notoriously outdated,it can mean that your documentation framework or workflow is not ideal. We typically program first and document later (or never). PDF format is not ideal for copy-paste ability and highly inappropriate on small screens like mobile devices. Having no manual for developers to provide them some clue about ab initio features viz., call tree, where to start, what to do and what not to do is an irony overall. One documentation for different versions (either just confusing or documentation for older versions is just dropped) is yet another setback for these systems. Therefore, a proper and upto date documentation is a mustb have for every system.
